Dear Jim,

When I did the flight testing for the speed kit on the mono-wheel, I was careful
to conduct the two comparison flights (each with at least 3 speed runs each
way) within an hour of each other to minimise errors. The aircraft weight was
also the same at each take-off and the runs were conducted at full throttle and
5500rpm. Having corrected for temperature and altitude the speeds were
converted
to TAS. A full 9 knots was gained with the fairings in place, so your
2 - 3 knots gain may indicate a measurement issue?

The Tri-gear showed a 10 kt improvement using the same techniques.

Regards
Andy

Paul

We have the XS mono wheel with a 914. After installing the speed fairings we
picked
up 2 or 3 knots at best.

I thank that maby the tri -gear may show more improvement than the mono-wheel

What about it, tri gear owners??????????
