Mike,

Mine used to get hot when new but improved with age.

Biggest change I made was to put a moulding in the bottom of the lower cowl
to provide a smooth passage of air into the coolers and more importantly at
the rear of the coolers where the hot air goes out. On any cooling system it
is most important that the air can flow smoothly, especially out.
