I have a crossmember midships that goes across the back of the seat back at
floor level, adjacent to the rudder pulleys, and on that I have mounted my
gascolator and fuel drains. The problem is that the drains are in aluminium
bundy tube, thin stuff (-4), so I am wondering if the drains are well
supported and only thin bundy joins them to the tank outlet fittings, would
others suggest these be of a flexible tubing rather than rigid, to
accomodate tank movement? I am unaware how the bottom forward portion of
the tank moves or otherwise with fuel in it, so I suppose I could always
block it from below once the module is installed. I will have a bigger
access than most, with a single belly access being 6" in diameter, big
enough for 2 hand work. I must say that if the tank outlet fittings do move
up and down a bit I have the additional problem that my fuel lines for
engine supply are -6 tube (3/8" or 9mm), but it is inherantly stronger.
Anyone with rigid tubing had any issues with tank flexing, changing shape
with a full load of fuel in it?
