Tony I have the same fuel tank sender unit but have yet to fit it to my
tank, on examining the kit it would appear to have extra length on the bolts
to suit thicker tank installation,
as the body of the fuel tank is relatively thin I suspect your bolts are
bottoming out in the blind nuts inside the tank, and therefore not
compressing the rubber seals sufficiently, suggest reducing them by a small
amount  one at a time  to see if this  will alleviate your problem,
