Good old duct tape does the job without slipping although the adhesive
residue is a bit of a nuisance (it can be removed with solvent).

Anyone got a good idea for supporting the engine cowl in place whilst
marking it ready for trimming to fit? I have clecoed the two halves
together and tried strapping it in place with luggage straps but it keeps
slipping out of place.
