Hi Steve,

That is what I have done with my Classic fuselage; the battery and battery
solenoid are under the starboard baggage bay extension, and the fuel pump
and mini-gascolator are under the port baggage bay; the strobe power unit is
exactly as you describe, with the proviso that the unit is mounted on the
back of the upright face.

In Europa Flyer 19 (Dec 98-Feb99) there is a description and an illustration
of a jacking unit designed by Jean Phillip Neal (F-WSLH, serial 273).
Although that unit is made of wood, I have replicated it with some 50 mm
square aluminium box section left over from another aircraft design. I use
an old folding car jack rather than the small trolley jack shown in the
photo. This system is fully satisfactory for lifting the whole aircraft for
its annual inspection, and you can climb aboard and retract the monowheel
without any problem while the aircraft is up on its jack; you need to put a
small wedge of foam under each outrigger to steady the aircraft. You can
also remove the wings with the aircraft on this jack, but the fuselage on
its own needs stabilising with a false spar and some uprights whilst the
wings are out.

If forum users do not have access to EF 19 and are interested in this
design, we will try and get it put onto the Club website.
