Another radio which is about to hit the streets and is worth considering is the
Microair 760SL. 2 1/4 hole, low standby current draw, 10W transmit, built in

Sight unseen at this stage but their reputation goes before them.
When you look at their T2000 transponder compared to other brands on the market
it's like comparing the original IBM PC with a modern laptop... ie there is no
comparison!
The 2 1/4" format also frees up a lot of space on the radio panel.
