Tie-downs

I have a couple of ideas about tie-downs which might create some
interesting discussion.

Firstly, in the case of a monowheel (or taildragger) would it be practical
to tie the aircraft down tail to wind if the stick was locked in a forward
position? The wind would then tend to provide a download rather than lift.

Secondly, with a monowheel the aircraft is prevented from lifting a wing by
the outriggers so provided the aircraft was secured firmly tie-downs would
only be required at the main and tailwheel. Obviously in very strong winds
the more tie-downs the better but as a precaution for landaways in moderate
conditions this could reduce the weight of the tie-down kit by a third.
