8th December - Europa Club help sought

Tim Houlihan and I have got ourselves into a scheduling conflict, and
wonder if any other Europa Club members might be willing and able to
help us out.

Tim attends the quarterly PFA NC meetings at Sywell as Europa Club
representative, and I attend as minute taker. Unfortunately the next
NC meeting is on 8th December, the same day as the Europa Club
Christmas dinner. The NC meeting is normally from about 10:00 to
16:00, but we feel we ought to attend the Europa Club committee
meeting on the afternoon of that day. (Not to mention that neither of
our wives is filled with enthusiasm to hang around at Sywell waiting
to go on to the dinner!)

So, we're seeking a volunteer who might be prepared to spend the day
in the Aviator Motel at Sywell airfield on the Europa Club's behalf.
You need to be a PFA and Europa Club member. The PFA will pay for
your lunch if you wish to have one, and the Europa Club will pay your
mileage at the standard committee rate. You get to hear first-hand
what the PFA is doing, and possibly contribute to future plans and
actions - and over lunch there is normally considerable social
intercourse with many interesting people. I will either pass on by
e-mail the agenda and all other relevant papers, or ensure that Penny
Sharpe at PFA HQ sends them direct to you.

It would be feasible for the person who volunteered for this meeting
at Sywell to attend the Europa Club dinner afterwards near Leicester,
but this might depend on your home location and whether your partner
was coming with you, etc. So, perhaps someone who is not planning to
attend the Europa Club dinner might be the ideal candidate.

If you think you could help by attending this one meeting as Europa
Club representative, please get back to me direct, off-list
<europa-club@rowil.clara.net>.

I may be able to find someone else who is prepared to take minutes on
my behalf, but if you feel you'd be able to do that job too, I'd be
even more delighted. I would be prepared to assemble your notes
(provided they were legible) into formal minutes if you like.

Looking forward to your responses - reply soon so I can let PFA HQ
know of the temporary change of personnel.

regards

Rowland
