When I flew in the US Army aircraft in the '60s, our L-19s had a radio
that put out 1/8th of a watt.  They worked great at more than line of
sight distances!  I purchased a Microaire 760 through a NZ distributor
at about 1/2 the US price.  E-mail me if you want info.
