Hi! Larry and customer.
I guess you mean the Jabiru 3300 although the 2200 has been flown in the UK
during testing it was landed "gear up" the tests were somewhat marred and
enthusiasm waned but I'm given to understand it did complete the tests
and there is no doubt an in-flight adjustable would have been very
beneficial.
However should you mean to fit the 3300 my MKI (Classic belongs to a bygone
era!)has proved very satisfactory. You will be advised to take the Jabiru
firewall forward kit though since it is recommended to mount the engine
2" higher than the Rotax, and in that position the Europa cowl would be
unlikely to fit. I guess he could try and mount it same position but the
original Europa spinner will need to be discarded since it would certainly
restrict cooling.
The choice of propeller will be quite critical, I have an MT Constant Speed
which may have restricted my cooling due to the larger than Jabiru standard
spinner ,but the MT has a steep pitch at the spinner diameter so the two
should have equalled out, the answer is probably somewhere between ! But
I've
put that behind me now since I got the full PERMIT TO FLY from the CAA a
couple of days ago !
Take a look at :-http://www.crixbinfield.freeserve.co.uk/europa.htm there
are lots of pictures in various stages of construction of G-PTAG.
Should you require any further info. call me up.
