Its probably safer to let the lay ups cure freely in air, peel ply does
work but you need to be careful and know what you are doing. Better to gain
experience & understanding first.
Have you tried sticking the cores down in the jigs with double sided sticky
tape? You can also use sharpened thin nails pushed diagonally into the ends
of the core.
