If you're referring to mere visual check of the Europa-supplied
filters, I suggest you'll only be able to see gross contamination of a
contrasting color to the filter element.  Proper check requires
disassembly.  Any safety critical item requiring frequent inspection
of this sort I think is intolerable.

What epoxy on what metal under what environmental condition?  In
general, on aluminum, I hear Boeing uses epoxy chromate primers.  So,
must be OK.

I would think any thickness which is opaque.  It seems also that any
opaque material would do.  Is there a reason you prefer metal foil?

The fewest which do the job (they work harden).  Need to smash 'em to
1.5 x nominal diameter.
