Been there, done that.

Take heart, it isn't the builder, it's the factory that all too consistently
fails to assure that any two components that should go together will
actually go together without using something approaching brute force. Of
course, in fairness to the factory I should mention that some of my fit
problems were the opposite, parts that were made undersize (like flap and
aileron core length). It makes one wonder if these people once built Yugos
and Trabants.

I had the same problem. I was not sure whether the frame was out or the
cockpit module.

I spent a long time carefully filing as much as I dare and then springing in
the frame with as much force as I felt was safe.

It was a long laborious process of spotting where the frame was catching and
filing a little at a time.

As it turned out I had to cut through a little of the first skin of the
double skin of the floor pan in order to get the frame in. This area is
covered with redux during final installation of the frame which I trust will
bring back some of the lost strength.

You have my sympathy.
