?add trailing links attached to the fuselage side wall, co-axial with
the lg axis? The other advantage of an aerofoil flat transaxle is that
when the weight was on the wheels it would angulate down and prevent
bounce, while when one rotates it would align with the angle of attack
snd help lift; nice and springy, so protecting the lg mounts you fear to
be so fragile.

That would require alot of conversion to the structure that the
monowheel is attached to (ie LG01 and the surrounding composite) if the
whole thing were not to rip out during the first asymmetrical landing.#

The problem with all these tri-gear and taildragger conversions is
just that - they are all conversions of major and irreversible nature.
There is a superb sprung and hydraulically damped anchorage already on
the monowheel - all you should have to do is remove the wheel and fix a
(springy and streamlined) transaxle there with a nice slim but
good-diameter wheel at each end. Hey presto! And if you get tired (not
Tyred) of it, why, then, you can put the old tundra wheel back. Please
won't one of you mechanical geniuses out there get on and produce it for
the rest of us.Hedley Brown (who wants one for G-IMAB)
