air filter drains

Hi all!

Perhaps you would like to consider the following simple safety mod.

The water drains in the standard Europa air filter box are designed to drain any

water falling into the naca vent simply into the engine area through the 1/4
inch holes in the bottom of the box.

The float chambers are also vented into the air box. If the float chamber valve

sticks the fuel will overflow into the air box. In flight this is no problem as

it is sucked into the engine but on the ground the fuel will pour out to the
drains into the engine bay!

I have burdled the ends of 2 pce of soft aluminium tube and stuck them through

the holes from the inside so that they do not pass through and attached a drain

hose on the tubes from the outside of the box. The air box now drains out of the

bottom of the cowling.

Best regards and have a good & safe year.
