Just remember, if you set the bungee too tight it will be hard to get the gear
out of the up position because at this point in the retract cycle the lever
has

Another little gotcha is that as the brake pads wear the calliper moves
outboard. If it's tight in the tunnel and rubs at maximom up position, the
friction will also make iot hard to start the gear down. After the first inch
of travel it becomes easier.

I haven't tried it (yet) but if the tie off for the bungee were (subjunctive?)
on the side of the gear leg it would be much easier to adjust later.

The most useful thing you can do is reduce the friction as much as poss and
set
the bungees to hold the gear just above half retract. As it says more or less
in the book. Friction is a bigger issue here than bungee tension because of
the
leverage at nearly up and nearly down.
