Treat all epoxy systems the same; achieving a +/- 5% accuracy on the hardener
weight quantity is usually the limit. A well made (free of significant
friction)
balance made as shown in the manual will make achieving this level of accuracy
very easy.

The balance does remove the mathematics from weighting out epoxy, especially
when
you overshoot with one of the components.

A 5% error of hardener on a 100 resin/25 hardener gram mix is 1.25 grams
remember.
Your electronic scales must have a resolution of at least 0.5 grams for mixes
of 80 grams resin/20 grams hardener. This will force you to make mixes too
large for a lot of those little jobs you need to do sometimes.

The weight upgrade Mod (Mod 52) will only be valid if all the aspects are
incorporated.
Changing the bushes in the spars isn=27t as difficult as it might sound.
A drill guide is provided in the Mod 52 kit to enable the original 3/8=22
bushes to be drilled out using a 3/4=22 hole saw.

Do use a good quality hose saw though.

Kind regards

Hi everyone

Does anyone know just how accurate the redux mix has to be. Is it as
critical as the SP systems 1%, or will a basic home made measuring device
(as shown in the manual for the epoxy) be good enough? Looking through the
spec sheets, I don=27t see anything regarding this subject.

Also, regarding the increased weight allowance, is it mandatory to insert
the larger bushes and pins and the cross support, or is it the case as I
have also been told, that providing you change the pins every 50 hours you
don=27t need to worry about the mod. I am slightly worried, having spent so
long on the wings, about cutting the old bushes out of the spar and even
more concerned about bonding the new ones in properly aligned.

Cheers Ed

ps how is that 6 cyl Jabiru instalation getting on?
