        Well, this is a good lead-in to my latest thought: an amphib
Europa. We already have outriggers that retract, so replace the little
wheels with some pneumatic ones, and put a bigger tire undeneath the
fuselage. Or maybe just make a single pontoon that straps to the
mono-wheel.  

        Combine that with catapault launches and an arresting hook.... 
        ;-)

        Be careful with this email though. With the smarmy lawyers were
have in the states, I'm sure one would try to sieze the opportunity to
hold an aircraft manufacturer (or kit maker) libel for too much
non-flying weather.
