Although it will be a while before my solution takes to the air I'm
hoping the following will prove effective.
I intend to have slots/vent strip running across the rear of the
Instrument Panel assembly. By the way I have designed and built a full
width Panel to replace Europa version.
Heat from Instrument/Radio installations will be 'gathered' by a small
manifold above in racks extracting heat/air from 'internals' of
Instrument Panel forcing through the vents with a 12V Computer Axial
Fan.
They are fairly lightweight and robust with a grid 'guard' and
inexpensive. Both Maplin and RS have good options.
The fan will be circuit protected with an additional isolation Switch
'just in case' and probably a small LED to show status ON/OFF.
Only experience will tell how long the heat from the Panel takes to get
to a meaningful, useful temperature.
If it fails then perhaps a short term heat source may need introduction.
I would appreciate any comments re. the idea and of course advice from
those lucky to be Europa airborne!
