Pitot - Static Positioning

As best I can determine, the new position for the Pitot is a foot
outboard of the flap aileron interface and one third back from the
leading edge. Am I correct? If so, what about placing it closer to the
tip - say one foot inboard from the tip alieron interface. This would
allow the running of the tubing for the pitot / static to the tip cavity
then down the tubing used for the wiring for the running lights. Also
you can get to the tubing very easily by running them through the open
core then down the electrical tubing. The nylon air control tubing is
fairly stiff but resistant to abrasion. I believe that nylon fittings
are available to make the sharp turns that may be necessary. There is
also a quick connect type joint that can be used at the fuselage for
theconnection to the tubing in the fuselage. I bought an aluminum pitot
/ static unit from Aircraft Spruce (Its an underwing unit) for about
seventeen dollars. It has a flange to allow you to bolt it up to a flat
area for mounting. As I think about this. you could use aluminum tubing
1/4" and run the tubing in that material up to the wing root. Then nylon
---From there. Several different ways. This way you keep the tubing away
---From the aileron channel or the flap closeout altho both have their good
and bad points.
