Re:fuel tank mods

I would like to fit an inspection hatch -say the size of a CD- in the top of
the fuel tank (one of the "new" stabilised ones) partly to have somewhere to
mount a capacitance type fuel level indicator.

Does anyone have any experience of this -what's successful, what isn't, what
type of gasket goos to seal it with and so on....
