Spar-cup insertion

The need for an "aft stop" at the bottom of the port wing aperture to prevent
the spar falling rearwards during rigging , has long been recognised.
Unfortunately this actually makes it more likely that the end of the spar
hits the rear cup edge , as it is no longer possible to angle it towards the
face of the cockpit module. It is even possible ( wiithout using undue
force) to get both the pip pin and the spar pin home with the tip entirely
out of the socket, a fact which doesn't become evident until the starboard
wing is unloaded., necessitating starting all over again.

While it is possible to attach guides to cockpit module to lead the spar into
the socket in the vertical plane, no guides can help horizontally as the
stbd. wing uses this space. It is however possible to use a temporary plug,
fitting into the starboard aperture, carrying such a guide, to achieve
oneshot engagement. . With extra beams hinged to the trailer, this plug, and
another on the port side, can also be used to improve stability of the
fuselage when in transit, especially if a tie rod is added between the two
through the fuselage.
