Security on Trailer

For security and stability of the fuselage when on the trailer it is
essential that there is adequate overlap of the trailer channel sides over
the undercarriage arm. This usually involves significant compression of the
tyre, before the retaining pins can be inserted. No problem with two people
but virtually impossible single handed.

I was about the make a wrap around compression bracket of some sort, when a
yachting friend of mine said "why not use your winch ?" ( as a yachtsman
would). Just unhook the strap from the tailwheel, extend it forward and put
the hook over the top edge of the channel. Problem solved. ( A standard 15ft
strap is just long enough, and don't say you haven't got a winch on the end
of the trailer!)
