It wouldn't be mine. The 912 gives rather more HP per lb. Klaus has done an
amazing job, including having special pistons cast and his own ignition system.
He also made his own streamlined carbon fibre oil sump. To do the same you would
need expertise equal to Klaus, which not many of us have.
The big problem is weight. The airplane just isn't quite big enough to take a
200 lb engine. Even the Subaru is a bit too heavy IMHO. You would really need to
move the wing forward a bit or add forward sweep to get the CG back where it
belongs. Then add a prop extension to get the prop out front in clean air etc
etc.
A supercharged direct drive Subaru might just work. Remember the Dragonfly
Expresso?
