This is exactly what I used the cutout from the firewall for. If the rest of the
center tunnel had been made from phenolic, would this remove the need for
stainless firewall parts?

 One little tip (learnt the hard way!), check the tyre for fouling the bulkhead
in the gear up position. The bulkhead needs to be go as far forward as possible
to allow enough space for the fuel valve & pipes.

 Another problem area concerns the fuel hoses between the tank outlets and the
fuel valve. The rudder cables run very close here and there is a possibility of
the rudder cables contacting and sawing through the hoses. I made some small
inverted " U " pipe bridges from nylon block to keep the cables from getting
near to the hoses.
