Hi Adam - appreciate your question - I am one of Aero Developments 4 developers.

No, it has its own longer one which has a 4 - 7 inch reduction on frontal
area,it also has a smaller spinner.I think it looks quite sexy, because the
912 is a bit bull-nosed with a very large spinner. But then again some
folks like partners with big Noses.

I must admit that I am concerned about my weight! (not my balance - we've
put our batteries back down the fuselage behind the luggage 'bay') The EA81
is only supposed to be 30-50 lbs heavier than the 912 with fittings etc (
viz. I have gone down Graham Brunwin's of AD's route of using Formula 1
racing hoses for water cooling + very comprehensive panel - so there are a
few variables). I hope that I have persuaded Graham (AD) and Melvin (AD) to
come on line themselves in the near future, because I do not want to give
any of their secrets away. I can say from my own experience, that they will
not make any claims that they cannot back-up - a welcome change - hence the
delay in info until they are airborne adn = any day now!

engine in mind, say it looks very promising , more power and much cheaper,
but won't say yet what it is. A gear box will be needed so the time scale is
hard to guess at.

I hope that the above is helpful. I believe that the PFA (UK) are well
onboard with this engine and that Graham's motor racing background is
producing some very interesting spin offs, but it would be unfair to expect
me to comment. The delays which we have all suffered are parts related. In
the interests of safety in the long run this may be no bad thing. The
reason that I chose the EA81 was not for more speed but for a less stressed
and puffing power plant - have a nice day Bill
