Thanks to everyone for the input. 4AWG it is! BTW I have to hand a 17AHr Yuasa battery and a U.S 32AHr Westco. The Yuasa weighes in at 11 (bathroom scale) pounds and the Westco at 20 (BS) pounds.

I believe that sulphuric acid anodising leaves low level chemical residues in the aluminium which can lead to weakening of the part after a number of years. It's used for non structural components. r
