Thanks for the advice.
I already use a Mr Funnel when fuelling the aircraft. The simplest solution is
to replace the filter(s) with an alternative. I already asked LAA for advice
on this. Preference is for a filter which can be inspected pre-flight without
dismantling.
My experience with a DA20 Katana was not good - a 912 that refused to shut down
(mags off, keys out, fuel cock off, throttle closed).
