Last Thursday afternoon, our new wesite host decided to
"upgrade" its already satisfactory service by moving the
'Connection and about 1,000 other customers to a new
server. Seems sombody forgot to check with InterNIC to
make sure the rest of the world new about it.
Since my email contacts with the service provider were
through the OLD server, that path was down. Their
technical support number wasn't being answered. I was
within minutes of calling a new LOCAL service provider
when I tried calling them one more time.
They assured me that InterNIC would broadcast the
new location data today. True to their word, the site
came back on the air this afternoon.
ALL e-mails addressed to nuckolls@aeroelectric.com would
have bounced until this afternoon. There was nothing in
the e-mail que when the site came up except very current
traffic from the dozen list-servers I subscribe to.
Sooooo . . . anything anyone has pending with us needs to be
re-sent.
I think I need to make an offering to the byte-gods . . .
perhaps if I immolate my mouse out in the driveway?
It got real quiet around here for 4 days. Chapter 17
to the book is nearly finished. Looks like we'll get
Rev 9 to the printers by end of next week.
