Al,
I used some U shaped aluminum, I seem to recall it might have been .5" x 1"
x .5", but to be sure I would have to go and check.
What I did was to cut a slot in the door frame (in the back corner area)that
was wide enough to slip one face of the U channel inside the door skin.
Once I have that done I then put Redux and flox on the surface and slipped
it in. I seem to recall that I held it in place with sheet metal screws
that had a hexagon head which allowed me to tighten them with a wrench. I
looks pretty neat and this method spreads the load to a fair area on the
inside of the door skin. I hope this all makes sense.
