I hope everyone uses jointing compound anyway. Duralac is a messy chromate
paste which helps prevent corrosion due to different metals being in
electrical contact. Carbon fibre parts also cause corrosion of metal parts,
especially steel.
Where two conducting objects are in contact and there is water around, a
small battery is created, the resulting current causes the corrosion.
