Paul,
Dimension between the bottom of the monowheel and
the fuselage is 21 inches or 530mm.
I have done exactly as you suggest.
I use wheels.
Very easy to move about the garage.
Make sure most of the weight is taken on the monowheel
and not the spar supports.
Not a good idea to use the spar supports as jack points to operate the
landing gear!
These are only to stop the aircraft rolling over!
