In our pressure transducer fuel gauge
implementation we also have a 3-axis
accelerometer and box temp sensor,
allowing compensation of fuel quantity
at any pitch attitude, or if necessary,
any positive G-load (the fuel gauge
can even be accurate at the bottom
of the loop).

We found variations in transducer
readings up to the equivalent of two
gallons, over temperature. We ended
up putting a temp sensor right at the
transducers and doing compensation
in the uProcessor. We display fuel
in tenths of a gallon, main and
reserve, and hope for better than
1/2 gallon accuracy over temp
and any positive-G attitude.

The vertical accelerometer is
also used as an electronic
G-meter as well, with audio
warnings for excess G loads.
