Brian,
To get an exact fit of the foam supports of your fuselage stand use
the following technique:
Make templates out of cardboard to get the approximate shape of
each station.
Use a pair of dividers, a compass, or even a block of wood...
and scribe a line on the
cardboard which is exactly parallel to the contour of the
fuselage.
Cut out the cardboard, and after you are satisfied with the
fit...
Transfer the template contour to the foam supports... cut out
and sand to shape.
On another subject...
Learned a neat idea from Lee Vaughn (A069, Minneapolis) on a recent
visit to his shop. He
learned it from some Canadians. Put in two fuel transducers...
One for each side of the
tank... i.e.: One Main, and One Reserve. Mount two gauges, or a
duel gauge, or a single
gauge with a toggle (or rotary) switch to select which tank
contents to view. I am now planning
three transducers and a three position switch... Main, Reserve,
& Aux (for the baggage area
tank).
