As the representative of our regulating authority in the UK to The
Europa Club, I must add to David's learned recommendation to remove
stall strakes when testing has been completed that this action would NOT
be allowed in the UK, .in fact it could invalidate the UK permit to
fly and possibly even the insurance.

What you choose to do outside the UK is up to you and YOUR regulating
authority.

BRIAN, Agreed the Smartass is brilliant and the best use of =C2=A3200 or
so invested in your plane. The Europa stall warner is not worth it as
far as I am concerned - it is not very loud; it sounds outside your
headset and is difficult to hear if you use noise cancelling ones and it
it sounds during landing as you hold off so it is easy to get used to
ignoring it. Stall strips are worth fitting for your test flying when it
is good to have extra things =98on your side.=99 but they
can be stuck on with some soft glue and removed later when you are
comfortable with flying your plane.

I am getting ready to close up my XS Starboard wing on my trigear, and
am wondering if it is worth installing the Europa Mod 61A stall warning
kit. I plan to install a SmartASS air speed speaker, and possibly
install stall strips, so I am unsure if the extra work and complexity is
justified.
Does anyone here have any thoughts either way on use of Mod 61A?
