Regarding the Bug Eye glass for the doors.

LP Aero makes these. You can get them in any tint (but not original classi
c yellow but they have a close copper one).

Clear, light gray, medium gray, copper, and of course the new UV blocking a
re available... The UV blocking is so good, you can hardly feel the sun hi
tting you under the glass. Much cooler and comfortable here in Florida.

Karen can get them dropped shipped direct to you in the UK.

Height is 1.5 inches increase on the average.

I installed one of the first on 419PL. No problem really. In fact the bul
ge makes the strap installing technique require slightly taller blocks and
that means easier clean up around the straps.

Glass is exactly the shape on the edges for install in the door. The bulge
starts approximately 1 inch outside the door glue area. Slight distortion
in the bulge section, but not noticeable in flight.

A vent door is not recommended as it must be placed quite a bit higher, and
puts the hinge line too close to my face. Personal thing. I=92m not pret
ty, but I like to prevent ripping my face open in a sudden stop.

Your head sticks up higher of course, but does not seem to bother forward v
isibility around the canopy bow.

Although these are slightly more expensive, I found this to be a cost effec
tive height increase over the high top mod and the only thing to do with a
completed airplane in need of a taller height when installing a new door or
 glass change out.

Jeremy=85I see in the supplier=92s online catalogue that the =93domed=94 do
or windows are still being offered.

While these windows give a distinctive look to our birds which some may bel
ittle, installing them would be something I would do if I were rebuilding
=85I=92ve not, however, ever sat in a Europa with them fitted=85nothing is
free, of course, but I=92m unaware of any measured (cruise speed) penalty.

Good luck,

F.
