I have a cheap Chinese landing light for mine which has a switcher voltage
converter
to allow up to 32v to be supplied. I haven't noticed any noise from it or
impact on anything, however the led matrix 3 x 3 needs about 9 v so a nice
quiet resistor would also do the job.
