Started looking at fitting the root fairings to the wings yesterday.
But the supplied fairings do not fit particularly well and will need some
extensive
work with a heat gun to remove the twists and bulges.
Has anybody created fairings by glassing directly to the wing ?
It would not take long to create a radius with some foam and by staggering the
overlap on the wing, it might avoid some of the problems with filling the step
created when using the pre-moulded fairing.
The supplied fairing is 1.3mm to 1.5mm thick which equates to about 4 or 5
layers
of BID I think.
Any thoughts ?
