I have used deco sand in dark grey from IKEA, mixed it with resin and
hardener, got in on my aluminium panels and after cure sanded with soft
grinding paper some grains down. Looks great and the cost was zero. Nextel
is only selling in minimum charges of 1 litre and very expensive.

You could save yourself a lot of money by spraying the panel with ordinary
gloss spray paint of your colour choice and then rubbing down very lightly
and spraying with a clear satin varnish. I did this on my panel and it is
still perfect after 6 years. Total cost about 20.

I'm intrigued ...... I contacted Goldburn about a month ago and they told me
they could not supply Nextel for me to use, but would paint the panel in
Nextel for 380 + VAT .....!!!

I would far prefer to buy the items listed by Paul below to use myself
rather than pay nearly 500 for them to do it .....!!!

Anyone got a strategy .......... or a few cans of Nextel, thinners, etc.
please?

Thanks to all for the useful input. Nextel is emerging as a clear favourite.

I have, however, heard it can attract greasy fingermarks - can anybody who
has been flying behind it for any length of time (Bob H?) confirm or deny?
Or any general reports on serviceability? Apologies to those who have
applied Nextel and not yet flown...!

The bad news is it is 47.81 for 1 litre (covers 5 sqm), plus primer at
21.87 and thinner at 9.45 for 1 litre, plus 30 carriage (all + VAT!)
Anybody fancy going halves on all of the above in Nextel's light grey?
http://www.goldburnfinishers.co.uk/nextel_chart.php

Or, better yet, anybody got 1/2 a litre of light grey (or near offer) plus
primer & thinners for sale to a good home?

Best,
