Glass neither paint will hinder the performance. In the worst case you have to
retune the antenna, but this is not likely. It is best to leave the aerial tuned
to the lower part of the band until the airplane is finished, and then trim
the lenght to the middle of the band. But then again it doesn't really matter,
since the coax lenght is fairly small, and losses are therefor minimal anyway.
As long as the SWR is within the radio's manufacturer limit you don't have
to bother over its performance.
