Unless your Skymap has a capability to take a static pressure input and
then convert it into the digital output required by the transponder I
doubt very much that what you want is possible. Unless I am very much
mistaken the ALT output from any GPS is derived from the GPS signal.
This is an inaccurate and meaningless source of information as far as
the transponder is concerned. You either need to buy an altitude encoder
(not very expensive) or purchase the Rocky Mountain Instruments uEncoder
whuch will give a wealth of other info as well.

Hi All, 
Do any builders or 'Techheads' know of a means or device that will read
the ALT. Data from my Bendix King Skymap iiic and feed it to the ALT.
input on the Garmin GTX320 transponder, i have both installation manuals
and it seems that the skymap has one output as opposed the the 320's ten
inputs,
