Haha, of course this isn't what I meant. It's a great point to hearken to
though, when the reporters come knocking. I have heard of the
story-twisting reports SO many times. Unfortunately, in an accident, they
are usually looking to find information on a negative tint. If airplanes
were unsafe, and aircraft accidents happened every day, they really would be
mundane, and the accident would be just what it is -an accident (like car
accidents). They would not get the (law and procedure-changing)reporting or
near the attention in the paper. Its kind of ironic that the safer they are,
the more unrealistically negative reporting they get.

We may have to come up with something that is sensational enough to stir
attention, but doesn't have a negative accident to go with it. Then we could
get an interview that would put up the experimental aircraft, as they should
be.

It's a tough one...
Fly a tough rescue mission to help someone stranded, preferably a politician
or actor?
Non-profit Flights for food donations for the needy?
Offer up free flights for reporters, maybe? <shrug, grin>

..........

Yes;

Typically they come back, only when there is an incident or accident. A
homebuilt crashed here once several years back. A newspaper crew came by
to interview a homebuilder (me) and take some photos of my project in the
garage. I gave them a good deal of information about building and
technique and effort. However when the story came out in the paper you
would have thought they interviewed someone else. It had the slant that I
was a taking my life in my own hands as a risk taker doing such a thing.
The media dives into things with their stories to grab people's attention
rather than to depict the true but sometimes mundane realities of what is
actually the case.
