Somebody i told i was going to run the pumps while carrying the plane on a
trailer to get possible debris out of the tank wanted to hear the results.
Who can make longer sentences :-) The transport was over 40 miles of icy
roads, and was moving around quite a bit. Duration about one hour. Anyhow
the result was an almost nothing. Found some aluminium dust, most likely
remains from the pipe cutter and or flange tool, a flinter of the
electrical tape i used to close off the openings of the tank before the
fittings went on, and a small part of what probably was a leave. 99.99% of
the gascolater screen was free. No tank cutting debris at all! Is that
still due, or was washing all out with soapy water that efficient?

Second answer due: There is a dry head on the pump in my installation, and
we were interested to know how much time it takes to pick up fuel, if
switching from a dry mains to reserve. I timed it to be about 2 seconds.
Can somebody survive 2 seconds of heart beats missing?

Kind regards,

Jos Okhuijsen
