I worried about that same thin. I found in the Rotax reference pages the
suggestion
to use a strap under the intake manifolds. I have been doing it that way
and have had no concerns of safety or doing damage .
There is a picture of my hoisting my 912S on page 8 picture 386 at the
Europaowners
page listed in my signature.

I know I should not engage mouth until brain is in gear, but cannot
find any reference to hoisting the 914 in past correspondence - except one
old one regarding the two bolt holes immediately aft of the prop shaft
(where the suction pump goes?). That referred to a pair of 9mm bolts but no
thread specs, and have to order to get same.
(a) any suggestions other than these boltholes?, and
(b) any info on thread specs?
