This subject keeps coming up all the time.
Take a look at the latest Europa Club FLYER article by John Crane. He
designed a very neat
trailer, for which I would swap my factory prototype trailer any day,
especially if it was
made out of aluminum.
What most builders would want are detailed plans with photographs, and then
have it
built by a local trailer manufacturer. In the UK all special trailer parts
are available from Northern Tool
& Equipment Co. (UK) Ltd. in Portsmouth at very reasonable prices.

By the way, the tailplanes fit into the back of most cars. I had mine
mounted on the trailer,
and after a 900 mile trip the TP6 support tubes had worked themselves loose
