I understand that there is a danger of getting water inside the wings if
they are left outside in the rain on a trailer, aileron edge up as water
collects in the 'gutter' formed by the aileron closeout and enters the wings
through the pressure relief holes.
I was considering making a couple of canvas 'envelopes', just over the
length and depth of the ailerons, open at the lower edge and inboard end to
slip over when the wings were on the trailer. I would hold them in place
with a couple of bungees down to the trailer. This would also stop the
ailerons flapping about in the wind when trailing although I haven't seen
this happen yet.
Anyone got any better solutions?
