Nothing to stop you photo copying the forms and using the copy as 2 sheets
stapled together. I keep mine as a scanned image on the PC with all the
basic detail pre filled.

If any one would like a copy of a blank one as a .TIF let me know and I will
e-mail it.

Subject: Fuel drawback

Further to my posting re fuel duty drawback, a couple of people have asked
how to get the forms for making the claim.

You can get the HO60 forms by writing to:

Mineral Oils Relief Centre,
Dobson House,
Regent Centre,
Newcastle,
NE3 3PF

or call the main HMCE Advice Centre and ask them to send you some HO60
forms(I asked for 10). Their number is 0845 010 9000.

The forms are fairly self explanatory, but there a few boxes which may
confuse. These are designed to deduct fuel used or spilt after loading and
whilst you're still on a flight to a UK destination. You can only claim for
fuel that you've loaded which is to be consumed after your last point of
departure from the UK. ie if you load 70 litres in Manchester, burn 20
litres flying to Lydd, land and clear customs at Lydd and fly to France, you
can only claim for 70-20=50 litres. If you fly direct from Manchester to
France then you can claim for all 70litres.

It's also worth pointing out to our continental friends that you too can
claim this relief if you visit the UK and buy our expensive fuel. The only
problem may be that HMCE will send you a cheque in UK which you may find
hard to cash. You can get round this (as I did for a friend who recently
visited from France) by having a UK person make the claim on your behalf
(which they can do - there's provision on the HO60 form for this), and then
send you the cash in the post later.

If you've got any questions about how to fill them in then feel free to give
me a call. Daytime: 01983 828124, evening 01983 756237. I'm only too happy
to help get money from the government feeding back into aviation!

There is some info on the HMCE website www.hmce.gov.uk and although you can
download many forms, when I last looked the HO60 wasn't one of them.
