On the subject of which fuel, it is of interest that the latest Rotax schedule
for servicing the 914 calls for oil and oil filter change every 50 hrs if you
are using Avgas but only every 100 hrs if you are using Mogas all or most of the
time. After 70 hours I have managed to use entirely lead free mogas 95 apart
---From two half tanks of Avgas, and that includes a trip round much of Europe.
No crud yet in the filter in the funnel and negligible deposit on the element
in the Andair gascolator and never any trace of water. The 914 engine always
starts first time when cold on choke and closed throttle and when warm with no
choke and about an inch of throttle. David Joyce
