I am about to create/laminate the flange in underside of the cockpit module to
establish the mounting surface for the plywood bulkhead located behind the wheel
well.
The manual say to locate the bulkhead 7" forward of the rear surface of the seat
backs, but when I do this, the plywood bulkhead slices through about the forward
1/3 of the circular access panel cut in the stb side of the tunnel. I'm
plann to move it forward to 7 3/4" so as to clear the inspection port area.
This
seems to still allow room for the retracted wheel - based upon the canoe cut-out
joggle - which extends rearward from the firewall about 29 1/4 inces.
Is there anything I need to watch out for by moving this bulkhead forward from
the 7" the manual mentions? Any folks with experience and an opionion?
